Information about Madoc, Ontario, Canada
Madoc is a lovely Victorian
villiage located in Prince-Edward Hastings County by Moira Lake. It is large enough to have all the essentials, but small
enough to know your neighbours. Madoc is in a rich and beautiful area of Ontario. It is an easy drive to Picton, Kingston,
and Peterborough. Within an hour, one can drive to wineries, great restaurants, orchards, galleries, boutiques, and Sandbanks
Provincial Park to name a few attractions. Belleville is a half hour drive to the
south along Highway 62 with great shopping and entertainment. If you are used to urban driving, driving here will be a pleasant
surprise, no bumper to bumper or having to leave early during rush hour to get somewhere you want to go. Madoc is easy to
get to because it is at the junctions of Highways 7 and 62 and only 1/2 hr. north of Highway 401. Perhaps this is not "The
County", but we also don't have the traffic or "The County" prices. The Madoc area does have the charm, the lakes and wonderful
people. Madoc is a hidden gem that is rapidly being discovered by people that are tired of an urban lifestyle or just want
a peaceful weekend retreat. Prices will not stay in this price range much longer as can now be seen in the price jump in Prince
Edward County over the past two years. The proximity of Madoc to the County is beginning to effect the housing prices and
selling times here too. Two hours from Ottawa or Toronto, one is in a different world. Imagine waking up in a Victorian villiage
or celebrating Christmas in a beautiful Victorian home while still having access to high speed internet. Now, realize it could
happen to you.
